Oleh Zarubinskii, Chairman of the Committee, emphasised that in accordance with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Resolution of 19 September 2010 No1807-VI, the Committee held a round table discussion to debate basic principles of the coming Law on the Matters of Ukrainians Abroad.
According to O. Zarubinskii, the situation of Ukrainians living abroad, the tools of solving the problems in this sphere, their status and rights, involvement into the public life of Ukraine and effective realization of their intellectual and cultural potential in the interests of Ukraine were discussed.
The People´s Deputy also emphasised that the majority of the Recommendations of the parliamentary hearings were addressed to the executive power. He also declared that the governmental information on the state of their implementation was forwarded to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Committee of Ukraine on Nationalities and Religions, the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting attended the round table discussion.
In the result of the discussion, the resolution was passed to summarize the remarks and proposals, and address the Cabinet of Ministers with an appeal to consider them in the process of state policy implementation in the sphere of cooperation with the Ukrainians abroad.
